My FIRST blog.....how exciting! I have to give credit to a long lost high school friend who sent me a link to her family blog many months ago. Although I like to think I am aware of all of the newest forms of technology and communication, my students, and even my friends will always prove me wrong. Fortunately I am a willing learner!! I love checking her blog periodically as the stories of her three boys are almost always relatable and usually generate a chuckle, and as a mom of 2, I find great pleasure in hearing about other parents trials and tribulations! It makes me feel like my parenting experiences are not unique and different from everyone elses! In a world of direct deposit, automatic withdrawal, online bill pay and where buying a stamp and mailing a package can now be done without stepping foot into an actual post office keeping in touch with friends and loved ones has taken on a new meaning and has actually become easier than ever before.
I also, between being a mother and also being a teacher of high school students, have many other interesting tales, stories, concerns and hopes to share about my experiences of being a full time working mother (and let me clarify "working" as being work that is out of the home as as opposed to working in the home as staying home is most definately a full time job - I have summers off and work the whole time!).
So, my blog (as I am sure it will evolve as I go) will be about my life as a wife, a mom and as a teacher and the sometimes crazy and awkward balancing act I have come to embrace......I suppose I should get ready for the day now..It is the last day of final exams and I still have 25 more short answer tests to grade about child growth and development and learner differences in the classroom and the role of the classroom teacher in ensuring student success....more will follow!!
